The 7th arrondissement is located southwest of the city center, and includes the tip of the Vieux Port and the Frioul Islands. It is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the city, as it is home to the immense golden statue of the Notre Dame de la Garde basilica, a Marseille emblem. This arrondissement also includes one of the oldest Christian monuments in France: the Saint Victor Abbey; as well as Fort Saint Nicolas and the Palais du Pharo.
You'll discover the narrow, steep streets of the Saint Victor and Saint Lambert neighborhoods, as well as the bourgeois and modern buildings that alternate with numerous sidewalk stalls.
