Celebrities in Marseille

The Phocaean city used to count among its population the biggest names and the most renowned personalities. Celebrities who were born and who spent the first years of their lives in Marseille are numerous. There were Marcel Pagnol, Fernandel, Yves Montand, Jean-Pierre Foucault, Eric Cantona, Akhenaton (the rapper and not the pharaoh of Egypt), Zinédine Zidane and much more. If they live no more in Marseille nowadays, other celebrities chose to settle in the agglomeration.Comedians, TV presenters, singers, actors ... Many of them do not hide their love for the Phocaean city. Laurent Ruquier considers Marseille, as well as Paris as his adopted city where he travels occasionally on weekends. Others, who also fell in love with Marseille, chose to live there permanently. The discrete Jean Jacques Goldman lives here with his wife and children. It is also the case of Kad Mérad, a native of Ile-de-France who traded his native Essonne against the sun and the sweetness of living on the shores of the Mediterranean.Other TV stars took up residences in Marseille for purely professional reasons. The actors of the soap opera “Plus belle la vie” are among them. We are talking about Laurent Kérusoré, Stéphane Hénon, Fabienne Carat, Michel Cordes and Rebecca Hampton whom we can meet in the streets of Belle de Mai in the 3rd district. As the studio of the TV show is located there, it is preferable for these actors to live in Marseille than to make exhausting trips back and forth between their place of residence and the place of filming.If some stars have chosen to settle in Marseille, the passage of others in Marseille was not unnoticed.
