Malmousque beach

Marseille is particularly rich in beaches. It is not the bathing places that are missing in the Phocaean Town nor the vast expanses of beaches of sand and pebbles. However, apart from the well-known places of all such as the beach Prado or the Catalans, there are also small coves that deserve our attention because of their special charm and also because mass tourism did not, although some are in the very heart of the city.

Among these places is the cove of Malmousque. Located a stone's throw from the Old Port, in the city center of Marseille, this district contains many treasures of the Marseille of yesteryear, at the time of the fishermen. The narrow streets of the quarter recall those of the Basket, the historical district of the Phocaeans, that is to say they are narrow and sometimes dark. What is exceptional is that they all lead, in one way or another, to a small cove where is hidden a small fishing port with boats typical of Marseille.

There are also the best bathing spots in the city center. Here we are not going to talk about the beach as we know it, with vast expanses of sand and everything, rather we are dealing with a concrete beach not very attractive to the first approaches. And yet, this place presents all the criteria for an exceptional day by the sea.

We talked about bathing spots earlier. Well, in Malmousque, they are more exceptional: the waters are clear, shallow and the rocks here and there serve as diving boards or observation points. There are indeed beautiful things to observe since Malmousque. For example, there is a clear view of the islands of Endoume and Degaby.

The cove of Malmousque is very close to the beach of the Catalans and it is somehow eclipsed by the popularity of the latter. This is in its favor because the Catalans are taken by assault every year by thousands of plagiarists, there reigns a hubbub of hell and it is very difficult to find a place where to put his towel.

In Malmousque, on the other hand, calm and tranquility are always there. It is probably the reasons that led the Foreign Legion to set up its rest center here so that the soldiers can recharge their batteries in complete peace.
